My baby is 3 months old and is breastfeeded only.but he does not pass stool for even 10 days?

the pediatricians gave glycerin suppository.now only if we keep the supp. he passes stool.is it safe to use.?people say it wl b alright if u change the diet once he s 6 months old.does happen to other babies also and is this condition normal?
